Surfing RI

This is Point Judith. I was the king of that place, rode it bigger than anyone in 69-70. The wind blew onshore for week, I awoke one morning and I heard birds chirping outside my window, ran to the living room and looked out on Narragansett bay. The ocean looked like it was tipping back and forth on a teeter-totter as the south swells marched by.

I broke out my 7'10"x 17-1/2' with 10" nose rocker Black Beauty gun for the first time - it was like riding snot it was so smooth on those 12-14 foot perfect peaks.

One of my favorite places in the world! I surfed it alot in the mid 80's. For a bit, I lived in the last house on Conant Avenue...2 blocks North. The lighthouse would shine through the bedroom window...great memories and better surf!

I and a friend Rod Ventura rode it, narragnasett bay in 70-73 we spend everyday during the spring and summer and a few times during the winter though much to cold for me, and at mauntunik point (sorry about spelling) I had moved to ct, from hawaii, got my first eastcoast board shaped by You, a 6'0 twin orange in color paid 80 bucks the best board I've ever riden to date,(my brother borrowed it and lost it in huge surf at Hookipa on maui, still bummed to this day) we surfed that day out there too, that place was also the place I had one of my most scarriest days huge and closing out had to paddle out and around the point where the old coast guard station used to be, me and Rod paddled for what seemed forever the coast was shaped differently back then and we had to come in over the rocks to get in. lots of great memories of that place.
